All thanks to Carrel Jevons, yes, gabbro bowls have returned to Hembury Hillfort. Carrel sent me these photos he'd taken of Robin's and my bowls. He installed(Carrel can now be considered to be an artist) them on Hembury Hill taking photos of them in position over where Dorthy Lidell's 1930's trench had been. Two are gabbro and the smaller carinated cup was made from east Exeter red clay from Stoke Hill area.

Did you use clay from the vicinity of the 3 Brothers or the more Loessic gabbroic clay from Lowland?
Yes. To both. We sampled the gabbro in se real places.
